Frank had two favorite sayings; one was from the movie Conagher, “You saddled that bronc, now let’s see if you can ride him.”  I don’t know where he heard the other, but it was, “Is this really the hill you want to die on?”

I watched as Frank struggled with this the last couple of weeks of his life, he wanted to keep fighting to live.  But there came a point where he knew that it was time to accept that the “ride” was coming to an end.  It was a very sacred thing to see the peace that entered his heart.

There are times when we must stand and fight; but there are times when we must come to a place of acceptance and choose not to fight.  Both require seeking the Lord for wisdom and direction.  And whatever His answer is, peace will be the result.
